Our Contributions to Pentwater
The members of the Service Club work year-round on local projects and on providing financial and physical support. Here's an overview of the contributions we make and the traditions we keep:
-Running the Bill Duncan Food Wagon selling food at village events to raise money
-Running the Sand Sculpture Contest during Home Coming
-Selecting and honoring the Citizen of the Year
-Cleaning up a stretch of U.S. 31
-Conducting weekly educational and business meetings Sept-May
-Providing camaraderie for club membership
-Giving educational scholarships
-Providing mentors and financial support for the High School Science Olympiad
-Providing financial support for the High School State Government trip to Lansing and State Government Day
-Holiday Bell Ringing and collecting for the Salvation Army
-Supporting the Hart Performing Arts Program with financial support, ushers, and intermission sponsorship
-Financially supporting local youth in Scouting
-Participating in the Pentwater Chamber as a member and supporting their events with financial support and labor
-Sponsoring the Candidates Forum for local political candidates
-Providing everyone with tax deductible way to support the Club’s philanthropy through the ‘Pentwater Service Club Fund’ at the Community Foundation for Oceana County.
-Supporting the cost of village fireworks
